Role:

  • Toddler Group Co-ordinator

Date joined the Pre-School Community: 2015 as preschool mum and committee member, started running the Toddler Group in January 2017

Specialities:

I love running the Toddler Group. It’s a fun and enjoyable morning. I love reading stories to children, getting them to engage and seeing them participate is fantastic. Whilst my singing voice is a bit to be desired I love having a sing song in Toddler Group, it’s great when the children and babies, join in with the actions and dancing too!

Likes to play:

I really enjoy sensory play; one of my favourites would have to be cooked, coloured, pasta with things in it for children to find and feel such as the sea creatures we have that I hide in blue spaghetti and children can go exploring in it. Play is so important to children’s development. By playing they are learning so much about life. It’s great for grown-ups too!!

Favourite books:

  • There’s a Shark in the Park - I love reading this to my children. It’s about a little boy called Timothy Pope who gets a telescope for his birthday and he goes to the park to see what he can see through his telescope.……and discovers its not always the shark that he thinks he sees!
  • Shaun gave a Yawn - a great book for bedtime. It has easy to follow rhyming words that children easily can pick up and join in with. The pictures are simple and are fun for the children to turn and see who is yawning.
  • You can’t go wrong with a Todd Parr book. He writes about love, kindness and feeling good- what’s not to like about that! It’s Ok to be different and We belong together are a couple of my favourites. He writes simply and has fabulous pictures that always make my kids laugh.
